Territorial Pissings

Who Really Needs To Turn The Temperature Down?

Let’s go with a hypothetical.

A hard far left radical is publicly killed in a manner most vicious and brutal. This comes after a Democrat presidential candidate has an assassination attempt leading up to the election. For years Neocon Establishment Republican Warhawks and their followers have been going around, chasing out, belittling, canceling, ruining lives, making you fight to keep your job and leaving you in some pretty dire straits while they all seem to enjoy positions of control. You have ever hard-right ideological bent shoved into literature, movies, music, games, etc. You’re tired of it. You just wanted to be left alone and then…that far left figure is killed.

Once the hard right starts celebrating…do you join them or oppose them?

See, here’s the thing. I don’t need political labels assigned to someone. I don’t even care what it is they have to say. I care about what they do.

The one thing that Paganism and Christianity do have in common is two lines but meaning the same thing.

“We are our deeds.” That one comes from us. We rely on our work to speak for itself and these days, that’s been made a much much more difficult road.

“By their actions, you will know them.” That one comes from Christianity but those are points of agreement where we both are informed that what a person actually does is more important than anything else because it is the foundation for all.

Again, Charlie Kirk, though I had differences of opinion with him, did not deserve what happened to him. His family did not deserve what happened to him. That’s when we come to …this fuckin’ guy. Found this on my post stack this morning.

Remember the lectures we got about Free Speech does not equal reach and Freedom of Speech does not mean freedom from consequences? Yeah, here we are.

Before I go on, I’m going to ask my readers to not search this guy out, don’t bother. I’m serious. His entire thread is him with the most childish of ad hominem attacks because he doesn’t actually have a salient point.

And with that, we can now segue into the fact that it’s sentiments like this that show pure disingenuous intent.

What people like this are saying is “We can kill you and celebrate it and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

I’ve warned before…do not make that a point of philosophy, don’t make a new rule you won’t play by and that’s the big point.

These people know only one thing; subversion. They’re not doing this because you’re a hypocrite, that’s not the case at all, it’s that they want and have set up shields against criticism and consequence. See, people like Ian can say all they want about how much of a “-phobe” or “-ist” Charlie Kirk was until they’re faced with evidence and then they’ll just whip out some new flighty shit to hit you with until it devolves into insults.

Case in point. “Charlie Kirk Was A Homophobic Person Who Thinks Gays Should Be Killed.”

Counterpoint:

It’s not about evidence. It’s not about whether or not you’re correct. It’s that we are no longer falling into line. There’s a crush of exiled outnumbering those who have done the exiling.

I heard recently that Joe Biden has received a terminal cancer diagnosis.

In response to that, I’ve said nothing at all. Since I’m now here, on the spot, I wish him and his family well. Cancer is a terrible thing that doesn’t give a shit about age, social/economic status, gender, in fact, cancer is probably the most inclusive thing on this planet…it’s the most equitable thing on this planet and what I mean by that is it kills no matter who you are, where you come from or what you believe in.

All of that above statement is fact. I don’t like Biden and I never have but I don’t wish cancer on him. I don’t wish death on him, despite the absolute horrible things he’s done and said.

No one is being fired for criticizing Charlie Kirk and what he said. They’re being fired for celebrating the death of a man who is, was and shall be, at least on this very page on the internet, a respected Civil Rights Leader. That’s the thing that Charlie Kirk has that most, like Ian, don’t…respect; respect of others or himself.

talked about part of our lore in our faith, The Lokasenna or The Flyting of Loki. This happens to be one of my favorite part of The Eddas because it clearly delineates the point that I’m making here.

In The Lokasenna, Loki shows up to Thor’s Hall where there is feasting and drinking. It’s like a huge family party. Loki, by this time, has really rubbed everyone the wrong way but he points out that when he and Odin took their oath to be blood brothers, he was assured, Odin would never drink without him. Being fair, Odin agrees, that was part of the oath they both swore. He would be served as well.

This is Thor’s Hall…let’s keep that in mind.

Loki then proceeds to roast every one of the gods, verbally. He levels insults at them, makes insinuations, not one act of kindness toward him is met with anything other than pure disdain and puerile stupidity…but Loki is allowed to drink and be as obnoxious as he wants.

Then, it happens, Loki lets it slip.

See, earlier in the Eddas, Loki managed to find out that Baldur, Odin’s favored son, fell under universal protection …except for mistletoe. Frigg had sworn everything and everyone to an oath that Baldur would not be harmed and so, nothing could…but the mistletoe never swore that oath. Loki knew that now. He crafted a dart, tipped it in a mistletoe thorn and tricked Baldur’s blind brother, Hodr, to launch it at Baldur. He did. It struck Baldur in the heart and killed him. Odin and all the Asgardians were deeply grieved. Odin had gone to Hel’s gate and begged to have his son back. He was told if everyone and everything wept for him, she would release him. Odin and the Asgardians ventured out and everything and everyone wept for Baldur.

…except one old woman who would not, citing, “Let Hel keep what is hers.”

Baldur was lost to Asgard.

Hodr had already been killed by another of Odin’s sons, Vali. He’d lost two sons and now, the truth was revealed, it wasn’t Hodr, the blind god of darkness, It was Loki!

Now, he’s on the run. He turns himself into a fish and swims down river. The gods are hot on his tail, tracking him. Nothing is going to stop them from reaching him. When they finally do…Odin doesn’t just say nothing and let him off the hook. There is a reckoning.

Loki is there with his wife and two of his sons. Odin turns one son rabid and it makes him kill his brother, disemboweling him. Odin uses Loki’s son’s entrails to bind him, position a viper over him and let the venom drip onto his face, an extremely painful fate…but he doesn’t go any further than that. He could have destroyed Loki. He didn’t. He met like with like. It wasn’t restorative by any means but it was just.

And that’s the problem with Ian and those like him, they’re predators, preying on our better nature. Ian hasn’t quite grasped the fact that we really just wanted to be left the hell alone. He doesn’t get that when you fuck with people who want to be left alone, well, we go from unremarkable and, dare I say, forgettable nobodies who are pretty content with being that, to becoming legendary for how far we will go to be left alone and, Ian, we know the score now. We’re fully aware of it.

To cite a more real-world example, when I worked in corrections there was the annual PPCT (Pressure Point Control Tactics) and use of force classes. Every year we were briefed on an expanding amount of rules we had to follow. The convicted felons we had to watch, I can tell you, did not give a damn about those rules…until we had to do something. Then suddenly they were crying foul and rationalizing with very circular logic how evil we were for removing them from the dorm.

There was a sort of continuum in play in that sort of thing. When the inmate backed off, we did too. That’s how it works. We catch an inmate doing something they’re not supposed to do, we issue a verbal command, they comply, all is well. If they don’t, then further action needs to be taken.

At this point, they’re standing on soapboxes screaming “You’re The Baddies!” over and over and over again until the inevitable conclusion happens; they murder someone.

It’s murder and assault and you don’t get to celebrate that without consequences because, as people like Ian kept canceling (BTW, Ian, whenever you see a red, squiggly line, you spelled canceled wrong and the site’s trying to tell you) us and reminding us…

It Costs Nothing To Be A Decent Human Being.

And the hypocritical part is that we’ve been lectured on this while nothing we ever did was considered good enough and were shunned for the mere act of making a mistake with a name, a pronoun, we were told that our words were violence and our silence was as well. We know what the score is and we know what the ultimatums are: Either we say the line…OR…we’ll be murdered.

Our answer is a middle finger. Both of them in my case.

Don’t start something you absolutely cannot finish.

We don’t need to turn down anything. We didn’t shoot one of yours and claim it was you and yours that did it. We didn’t go after Presidential candidates and speakers with guns while trying to ban them for everyone else. We didn’t chase you down every dead-end street when you harassed us.

The rules you created were done so so that we would play by one set of rules which were stacked against us while you reaped all the benefits. Now you find that your own weapons have been turned on you and you’re crying foul, then why the hell did you ever introduce them?

This is the board now. You’re going to be made to play by the rules you’ve put in and the more you make, the more we’ll play until none of you are left.

Rest assured, you really want to back off of this now because there are those that are fucking done with it and the name-calling won’t work on us. Killing us won’t work either. Your movement is dead. It will be buried, possibly cremated so that no necromancer can step out and remind it of its body’s extended warranty.

Ian I don’t care what childish insults you throw at this, the only thing you need to know in closing can be summed up in three words…

We See You.
